England
"England is never in a hurry because she is eternal."
-Henryk Sienkiewicz
My sister, niece, and I will be traveling to England in 2024, primarily for the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge.
We also plan to fit a bit of family history into the trip by stopping in Mansfield and visiting Blidford Bottoms, both in Nottinghamshire.
The trip will kick off via rail from London to York where we will take a boat tour of the River Ouse, affording us the opportunity to get the lay of the land in our chosen Yorkshire city. We will explore Monk Bar Gate, walk the Roman wall, visit York Minster, possibly see St Mary's Abbey, head through Jorvik, and make our way through the shops of The Shambles.
We will then visit Glastonbury and the Tor before finding our way to Stonehenge for the pre-dawn celebration.
We will find our way then, back to London for some incredible nightlife, amazing discoveries of the Old City and new. Here we will spend our last few days taking in the British Museum and other famous sites before jetting home again.
